ALBION, Mich. - The women's basketball team dropped a 51-42 decision at Albion College on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Bulldogs led 24-23 at halftime but were outscored 28-18 in the second half.
Senior Jenn Headley scored 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting and also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. She also recorded three assists and two steals in 29 minutes. Sophomore Amy Van Gessel came off the bench to score 10 points on 5-of-11 shooting. She also had five rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes of action. Senior Katie Ross connected on 3-of-4 from behind the arc and finished with nine points and six boards.
The Bulldogs held Albion to 28.1 percent shooting in the first half but the Britons upped their shooting to 39.1 percent in the second half and cashed in at the free throw line. Albion went 13-of-21 from the stripe overall while Adrian went 0-of-5 at the line. Adrian shot 36.7 percent for the game and were 6-of-17 from the arc.
The Bulldogs (6-11, 3-8) are back home on Wednesday, Feb. 1 against Olivet for a 6:00 PM tipoff.
