CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Adrian College men's volleyball senior Mike Gold was named the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League's (MCVL) Offensive Player of the Week last week after a stellar weekend of hitting.
Gold totaled 34 kills in three matches last week, hitting at least .500 in each match. He racked up 13 kills in a five-set win over Augustana while hitting .562 before picking up five kills with a .500 hitting percentage in a three-set loss to Loras. In the Bulldogs' final match of the weekend, Gold led the team with his 16 kills on 17 attempts in Adrian's three-set sweep of North Park. With one error, Gold had a hitting percentage of .882, setting a program record for highest hitting percentage in a single match.
Adrian is back in action this weekend with a pair of conference matches. The Bulldogs are on the road at Trine on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. and the travel to Mount St. Joseph on Saturday at 2 p.m.
