HOW IT HAPPENED

Adrian opened up the scoring in the 18th minute when freshman Grant Perrine found the back of the net for his first career goal. Sophomore Justin Tobin played a long ball up to senior Tad Davis, who headed the ball on to Perrine. Perrine beat the last defender and buried the ball in the back of the net for the lead.

The Bulldogs doubled their lead just before half, when senior Brandon Katona scored in his first game back from injury in the 41st minute. Sophomore Eric Wahoski took advantage of a Pioneers turnover in their defensive end and found Katona who beat his man on the outside and then the keeper.

Davis found the back of the net himself early in the second half, making the lead 3-0 in the 61st minute. Senior Dolan Bonkowski placed a throw-in right at Davis's feet and Davis did the rest for his first goal of the year.

The final goal of the contest came shortly after Davis's goal when sophomore Jordan Miller scored from the penalty spot for his first goal of the season as well.
