ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's soccer team made program history again this season, finishing second in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings and earning the right to host a conference semifinal round game on Wednesday, November 1. The Bulldogs will host the Flying Dutchmen of Hope College, game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., ET.
Tickets for the game will go on sale an hour before the scheduled kickoff time. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Free admission will be granted to students with an MIAA Student ID.
Adrian swept Hope in the regular season series this season for the first time since the 1989 season. It is also the first time since the program's inception in 1981 that Adrian College men's soccer has defeated the Flying Dutchmen at least once in the regular season for three consecutive seasons.
Junior Tad Davis (Trenton, Mich.) leads the Bulldogs in scoring this season with 12 points (3g,6a). Davis's six assists rank fifth in the MIAA. Brandon Katona and Garrett Miller are tied for the second-most points with nine. Katona has scored four times and has dished one assist; Miller has scored three times and tallied three assists. Adrian sophomore goalkeeper Spencer Brown (7-2-2) has the second-highest save percentage with .793. He also ranks third in the conference with a 1.04 goals-against average and is tied for fourth with Hope's Blair McCormick (3-4-2) in goals against with 12.
Juniors Christian Dault (6 goals) and James Reymann (3g,6a) lead Hope with 12 points. Dault is currently ranked fifth in the conference in goals scored. Sophomore Dalton Bruso ranks third on the team in scoring with seven points with one goal and five assists. McCormick has the second-lowest goals-against average (1.01) among MIAA keepers. Besides McCormick, sophomore Stephen Wilbur (4-4) is tied for second in the MIAA with 10 goals allowed.
