Men's Hockey Suffers 7-0 Setback at NCHA Rival St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis.--Host St. Norbert broke open a close game with five goals in the third period to defeat visiting Adrian, 7-0, in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association men's action on Friday evening.

= Sophomore goalie Nikita Babintsev lost for the first time in four decisions, making a career-high 31 saves.

= Kurt Black led all scorers with four points on two goals and two assists.

= Peyton Frantti (1 assist) and Timmy Nicksic also scored two goals each.

= T.J. Black made 22 saves to get the shutout.

= St. Norbert outshot Adrian 39-22 and went 2-for-5 on the power play while also scoring shorthanded.

= The Green Knights clung to a 2-0 lead at the start of the third period, but iced the win with five goals over the last 20 minutes.

= Black gave SNC all the offense it would need with a tally at the 10:57 mark of the first period. 

= The Green Knights avenge a 4-3 overtime loss in Adrian on Nov. 10, when the Bulldogs rallied from three goals down for the victory.

= SNC leads the all-time series, 11-8.

= Tonight was the first time in the last five meetings that the teams didn't play to an overtime period.
