DULUTH, Minn.--The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association on Tuesday named Adrian College senior forward Bryan Yim (Farmington, Mich./New Jersey Hitmen, USPHL) the NCHA Men's Offensive Player of the Week. He is the second Bulldog this season to win the conference's weekly award, joining junior forward Dino Balsamo on Oct. 30
Yim potted his two most important goals to date this season against then-No. 3 ranked St. Norbert. Having a heavy hand in helping Adrian storm back from a three-goal deficit in the third period, Yim tied it 3-3 with 1 minute and 19 seconds left in regulation and scored the game-winner on a wrap-around 1:45 into overtime to upend the defending national champions. Including a 5-1 victory Friday against Finlandia, Yim also won 54.1 percent (20-37) of his face-off attempts.
On the season, the physics major leads the NCHA with six goals in six contests. For his career, Yim has 41 goals and 46 assists for 87 total points in 92 games to go along with a plus-59 rating and 252 shots on goal.
The Bulldogs will take a No. 2 national ranking, 5-1 overall record and 3-1 NCHA South Division mark into this weekend's home-and-home series against conference foe Trine. Adrian hosts the Thunder on Friday (7:05 p.m.; GET TICKETS) before traveling to Angola, Ind., on Saturday (7 p.m.). The Thunder gave top-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point its only blemish of the season so far, a 2-2 tie at home on Oct. 27.
