Peters Cup Champion @ACBulldogHockey Lands NCHA-Leading Four on All-Conference Team

2016 All-NCHA Awards

WAUKESHA Wis.--The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Tuesday announced the 2016 all-conference and -freshmen teams, and the back-to-back Peters Cup champion Adrian College men's hockey team led the way with a NCHA-best six selections.

Center Connor Armour (Bowmanville, Ontario/Cobourg Cougars, OJHL) headlines Adrian's prominence on the All-NCHA awards as he was named the NCHA Freshman of the Year and an all-conference forward, according to a vote of the league's 11 head coaches.

Joining Armour on the All-NCHA team was sophomore center Mathew Thompson (Bolton, Ontario/Trenton Golden Hawks, OJHL), as well as defensemen senior Chris Leone (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, NAHL) and freshman Cory Dunn (Trenton, Mich./Austin Bruins, NAHL).

In addition, Kevin Entmaa (Milton, Ontario/Caledonia Corvairs, GOJHL) and right wing Bryan Yim (Farmington, Mich./New Jersey Hitmen, USPHL)--along with Armour and Dunn--made the All-NCHA Freshmen Team.

Armour tops NCAA Division III rookies with 30 assists and 37 points--figures that also rank first overall in the NCHA.

Thompson, who was on the All-NCHA Freshman Team a season ago, is second behind Armour in conference total points with 36 on 16 goals--second in the NCHA--and 20 assists. The alternate captain has 13 goals and 18 assists in conference-contests only.

Also an alternate captain, Leone has enjoyed a career year that includes 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 total points. As a junior, he had scoring totals of 6+12=18. Leone is tied for the conference lead with six power-play tallies and five game-winners.

Dunn leads Leone in NCHA scoring by blueliners by three points, 26 to 23. Dunn's 20 assists also pace conference defensemen. He also ranks fourth in NCHA freshmen scoring.

Entmaa is the only undefeated netminder in NCAA men's hockey at any level with a 12-0 record--the only Bulldog ever to finish a regular season unbeaten, untied (with a minimum of 10 decisions). His season also includes a 2.16 goals-against average and .923 save percentage, which are both fifth in the NCHA.

Yim has 12+20=32 season scoring totals. He is second behind Armour in NCHA rookie point-scoring and tied for fifth overall. He also is second (tied with Dunn) behind Armour with 20 NCHA assists. Earlier this month, Yim tied a school record with four goals in a game.

Behind the Bulldogs' six honorees, Marian had five and NCHA North Division champion St. Norbert, three.
