BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--For the third time this season, Adrian College freshman Cory Dunn (Trenton, Mich./Austin Bruins, NAHL) has earned D3hockey.com National Team of the Week accolades. The right defenseman also was named last week and on Jan. 19.
Dunn was credited with the game-winning goal in a 4-2 road triumph Saturday at nationally-ranked St. Scholastica that clinched the Bulldogs' overall No. 1 seed in the Harris Cup playoffs. Dunn leads Northern Collegiate Hockey Associations blueliners with 20 assists and 26 points. Before he scored the go-ahead 3-2 tally, he assisted on the game-tying goal by classmate Trevor Boyd.
The nationally No. 2-ranked Bulldogs, who were second in the first NCAA Division III West Region ratings, bring a 21-3-1 overall record and No. 1 NCHA (overall) seed into their Harris Cup two-game semifinal round this weekend at Arrington Ice Arena. Adrian, which earned a bye from the NCHA Quarterfinals, will play a yet-to-be-determined opponent at 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday.
