WAUKESHA, Wis.--The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association has named Adrian College freshman center Connor Armour (Bowmanville, Ontario, Cobourg Cougars (OJHL) as the NCHA men's offensive player of the week, the league announced on Tuesday. This marks Armour's first weekly award by the conference.
Armour had a seven-point showing with a pair of goals and five assists in Adrian’s weekend sweep of Lawrence University, 8-2 and 5-1. He started the weekend with a career-best four points Friday, netting the first goal of the contest and assisting the eventual game-winner in the first period. He added a second-period helper and third-period goal in the big win. Saturday, he followed up with three assists to tie another career-best in a 5-1 win.
He now leads NCAA Division III with 1.42 assists per game and tops the nation with 32 points among rookies.
The top-ranked Bulldogs, who are 17-2-1 overall, step out of NCHA play this week on Friday at Wis.-Stevens Point (No. 5 USCHO.com, No. 6 D3hockey.com), looking to sweep the regular-season series from the Pointers. Adrian came from behind twice to down Stevens Point, 3-2, the last time the teams met on Nov. 28 in Adrian.
