@ACBulldogHockey Lands Seven on NCHA All-Academic Team, Including Three Repeat Honorees

WAUKESHA Wis.--The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association has released the 2015-16 NCHA Men's All-Academic Team, as the Peters Cup and Harris Cup champion Adrian College Bulldogs had seven representatives.

The Adrian recipients include:

Brent Sauve, Senior, F, Sarnia, Ontario/Sarnia Legionnaires (GOJHL)...a two-time Academic All-NCHA member...scored five goals in eight games, setting personal records for goal-and point-scoring...a junior athletically, he is graduating early with a degree in business management with a minor in economics.

Austin Hervey, Junior, F, Brighton, Mich./Indiana Ice (USHL)...a two-time Academic All-NCHA member...tallied 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points in 26 games...that more than doubled his offensive production as a sophomore, when he had 5+3=8 scoring totals...named to the NCHA All-Tournament Team after recording three goals and a plus-5 rating in the Harris Cup playoffs...finished with a plus-16 rating...majoring in accounting with a minor in mathematics.

Michael Hoy, Junior, LD, South Lyon, Mich./Texas Tornado (NAHL)...a two-time Academic All-NCHA member...notched two goals and seven assists for nine points...tabbed to the D3hockey.com Men's National Team of the Week for Dec. 15, after his first goal of the season came at a critical time on the road to defeat Nazareth College, 2-1, to close the fall semester...he is a biology major.

Daniel Lisi, Junior, LW, King City, Ontario/Aurora Tigers (OJHL)...served as an alternate captain in his first full season at Adrian College, after transferring from NCAA Division I Sacred Heart University of Atlantic Hockey in the middle of the 2014-15 campaign...posted career highs of eight goals, 10 assists and 18 points...scored a goal in four consecutive games from Jan. 8-16 during which time he had a plus-6 rating...accounting major.

Tyler Parks, Junior, G, St. Louis, Mo. /Minot Minotauros/(NAHL/St. Lawrence University (NCAA D-I, ECAC)...in first season with the Bulldogs, posted an 8-2-1 record, 1.90 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 630 minutes and 34 seconds between the pipes...his respective NCHA ranks were fourth with a .808 winning percentage, fourth and third...notched the team's only shutout on Jan. 9 at Aurora, making 13 saves...in one of his best performances, he came off the bench for the final 28:11 in the NCHA championship game to stop 15 of 16 shots he faced to beat top-ranked St. Norbert, 4-1...business major.

Blake Butzow, Sophomore, LD, Plymouth, Mich. / Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL)... established career highs with nine assists and nine points...second on the team with a plus-31 for another personal record...appeared in all 29 games...registered a career-best two assists in a 3-2 win at Marian on Nov. 14...an exercise science major.

Austin Rust, Sophomore, RW, Algonac, Mich. / Kirkland Lake Gold Miners (GOJHL)...played in seven games while contributing two goals and an assist before an injury ended his season...scored a career-high two goals on three shots with a plus-3 rating in a 9-1 win at Finlandia on Dec. 5...one of those tallies came on the power-play...majoring in athletic training with a minor in business.

The Bulldogs had the third-most honorees among Harris Cup playoff teams. Adrian swept the NCHA regular season and tournament titles for the second year in a row, and advanced to the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship Quarterfinals.

A player must be at least sophomore status to earn the all-academic award, as well as have an overall grade-point average above 3.00.

Last season, Adrian had five honorees that made academic all-conference.
