Sophomore Jackson Tellerico Leads Men's Golf at First MIAA Jamboree of 2019-20

WEST OLIVE, Mich.--Adrian College opened the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's golf season on Monday with a fourth-place finish at the MIAA Jamboree #1 at the Wuskowhan Players Club hosted by Hope College. The Bulldogs shot a team score of 314 to end up ahead of Calvin (316), Albion (325), Olivet (334) and Alma (334).

Sophomore Jackson Tellerico fired a career-tying-best and Adrian season-low of 73 (37+36) on the par-71, 6,977-yard course for a second-place tie overall showing to pace the Bulldogs' day. The rest of the AC lineup included junior Hayden Winch (39+38=77, T-15th), senior Nolan Duda (40+41=81, T-21st), freshman Trevor Benoit (40+43=83, T-31st) and junior Brett McGugan (42+43=85, T-37th). In addition, freshman Jack Johnson Adrian was 17th with a 40+38=78 as an individual.

Trine swept the team and medalist titles with a 296 collective score bolstered by Nick Knowlton's 35+36=71 for even-par.

Adrian will host the two-day, 36-hole Irish Hills Intercollegiate at the Grande Golf Club in Jackson, Mich. Friday's action begins at 11 a.m., followed by Saturday with a tee-time of 9 a.m.
