Sophomore Hayden Winch is Runner-Up at CC Knights Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--Sophomore Hayden Winch set a career high with his second-place finish to help set the tone for the Adrian College men's golf team at the Calvin College Knights Invitational held Tuesday at the The Golf Club at Thornapple Pointe. The Bulldogs collectively shot a 312 for fifth out of eight schools. 

Winch fired a 73, just four shots off the lead, to be the runner-up out of 48 individuals to lead Adrian. Senior Andrew Skibski followed with a 77 (T-9th), then sophomore Brett McGugan (79, T-18th) and freshmen Jackson Tellerico (83, T-33rd), AJ Clark (90, T-45th) to round out the lineup.

Trine University (306) edged both Hope (307) and Kalamazoo (307) colleges by one stroke for the team title. Jackson Jones from Kzoo was the medalist with a 69.

The Bulldogs hit the road again on April 27-28, for the regular-season finale at the Ted Barclay Invitational hosted by Denison University at Denison Golf Club in Granville, Ohio. Saturday's first round is scheduled for a 1 p.m shotgun start, then the final 18 holes begin at 9 a.m. the following day.
