Men's Golf Vaults Two Spots to Finish Fourth at MIAA Fall Tournament Finale

WYOMING, Mich.--The Adrian College men's golf team completed its fall schedule on Saturday with a terrific second day at the 2018 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Fall Tournament at Kaufman Golf Course, shaving off 10 shots and jumping into fourth place. The Bulldogs' 289 over the last 18 holes, combined with a 299 on Friday, gave them a total of 588 and allowed them to leapfrog Trine University (297+297=594) and Albion College (297+311=608).

Freshman AJ Clark zoomed eight spots in a span of 24 hours to finish in a ninth-place tie with a 74+71=145 to pace the Bulldogs lineup. Senior Andrew Skibski had the squad's biggest improvement--nine strokes--and the lowest round (69) to finish 78+69=147 for tied-13th. Next up, were freshman Jackson Tellerico (73+74=147, T-13th), sophomores Brett McGugan (77+75=152, T-22nd) and Hayden Winch (75+78=153, 25th). In addition, sophomore Noah Kosal competed as an individual to shoot a 78+78=156 to finish 30th.

Hope College (284+284=568) defeated Kalamazoo College (285+292=577) by nine shots. Nick Ludka of the second-place Hornets was the medalist was the medalist with a 69+68=137 (-3).

Adrian's spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
