FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College senior Andrew Skibski (Monroe, Mich./St. Mary's Catholic Central High School) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week. The MIAA office made that announcement on Monday for the period ending Sunday.

Skibski led the way for Adrian in two events, recording a 72.0 stroke average for three rounds. On Wednesday at the first MIAA Jamboree of the fall, he fired 3-under-par 69 for a second place finish overall, just one shot off the medalist lead, on the Bedford Valley Golf Course. His terrific score is his lowest in any MIAA event that he has competed, covering 20 rounds of Jamboree and tournament play. It is also believed to be a Bulldogs' best round during MIAA competition since Jordan Kelly shot a 65 in the third tournament of the 2010 season. Over the weekend at Adrian's own Irish Hills Intercollegiate Invitational at The Grande Golf Club in Jackson, the athletic training major shot a 73+74=147 for a seventh-place tie out of 67 individuals and helped Adrian to a fourth-place finish in a competitive 12-team field.

On the season, Skibski is tied for second on the MIAA leaderboard with a 69.0 and ranks first on the Adrian team with a 73.4 stroke average for five rounds.

The Bulldogs are back in action next Saturday (1 p.m.) for the MIAA Jamboree #2 hosted by Trine University at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
