FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College freshman punter Austin Behnke (Roseville High School) has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Special Teams Player of the Week in football, for the seven-day period ending Sunday. This signals his first such citation and the second time in a row that a Bulldog has been named for one of the three MIAA football weekly awards.

During Adrian's 27-5 non-conference victory at Aurora, Behnke averaged 41.3 yards on six punts, including two downed inside the 20. One of the punts gave the offense good field position and led to the Bulldogs' last touchdown of the afternoon. He had a career-long 65 yard boot in the fourth quarter--it ranks the sixth best in school history.

On the season, he is averaging 38.8 yards--ranked third in the MIAA--on eight attempts.

Adrian (2-1) is idle this week before opening the MIAA slate at Kalamazoo on Sep. 29.
