BEAVERCREEK, Ohio--The Adrian College men's bowling team had a solid showing at a competitive Roto Grip Raider Classic hosted by Wright State University at Beaver-Vu Bowl. The Bulldogs finished eighth out of 21 teams with a total of 8,520 pins, narrowly missing the cut of top four teams.
Sophomore Dylin Hunter led the way for Adrian by averaging 222 pins for five games, or knocking down 1110 total. As a result, he was named to the all-tournament team for a third-place showing out of 145 individuals. The Bulldogs also had two other bowlers wind up in the top-30, including junior Mike Jachcinski in 24th place (196.2 average) and sophomore Kody Wood at 29th (190.4 average).
"We continue to get better each tournament, which is a terrific sign," said Adrian coach John Essenmacher III. "They have improved each time we have bowled, and are only going to get better throughout the season."
Morehead State defeated Notre Dame College, 869 to 844, in the championship round, Ohio State led the team standings with a 9,191 pin total through qualifying, and Zachary Fylling from the University of Pikeville was the individual champion with a 1,114.
Adrian will close out the fall semester schedule on Saturday when it travels to Rossford, Ohio, for the Bowling Green State University Falcon Classic.
