ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team fell in a hard-fought overtime battle with Earlham College to open the 2019-20 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bulldogs trailed for the entirety of first half, despite spending a majority of the time within a handful of points.
Earlham controlled most of the second half, but a 10-point run by AC brought the game with three (68-65). Connor Pelham began the scoring for the Bulldogs, posting two free throws before collecting a jump shot. Jordan Harris then put up a pair of free throws of his own. The run was capped off a free throw and made three by Trey Helinski.
Trailing by eight heading into the final two minutes of regulation, Adrian posted an impressive offensive effort, kicked off by Robert Warrick with a layup to make it 76-70. It was all Harris following, posting a jump shot and layup before Adrian called a timeout with 22 seconds remaining on the clock.
Coming out of the stoppage, the Quakers made a free throw to push it to 77-74 with 18 seconds remaining. The Indianapolis, Ind. native put up a near buzzer-beating three to tie the game and send it into overtime.
Much like regulation, the visitors never trailed, owning at least a four-point lead for the majority of the period, eventually collecting a 102-94 win.
- Jordan Harris, while leading the offense in points with 31, had the team's lone double-double, collecting a team-leading 13 assists as well. He also led the defensive efforts on the boards, grabbing four defensive rebounds.
- Jeremy Kalonji was instrumental in igniting the offensive effort, recording a team-leading four steals. He also had a second-best 14 points and four total rebounds.
Adrian College hits the road for Anderson (Ind.), where it will face off in a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
