BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--The middle infield of the new D3baseball.com Team of the Week features Adrian College Bulldog seniors Ryan Dorow (South Haven [Mich.] High School) at shortstop and Brian Killinger (Grand Rapids, Mich./ Northview HS) at second base. Adrian led the nation with the two selections, and the period covered games played from March 13-19.
Dorow led Adrian to a 3-1 record at the competitive Snowbird Collegiate Baseball Classic (Marietta, No. 9 Wooster, No. 25 North Central-Ill.) with 12 runs batted in, .667 batting average (12-18), on-base percentage (.727) and slugging (.944). He also was perfect with 19 fielding chances from his shortstop position, where he was part of five double plays turned. The sports management major had what proved to be the game-winning RBI in upsets over Wooster (3-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI), 8-5, and North Central (4-for-6, 2 2B, 5 RBI), 21-4.
Batting second in the order, Killinger had a .647/.700/.882 slashline to help the Bulldogs win three of four games against stiff competition at the Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla. The athletic training major led Adrian with eight runs scored and was flawless in the field with 20 total chances. In an 8-5 win over No. 9-ranked Wooster, Killinger went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI. In a twinbill split with No. 25 North Central (Ill.), he went 4-for-8 with a pair of doubles.
Dorow and Killinger join junior RHP Tommy Parsons, who was named on March 6 in Week#4, as Adrian representatives on the D3baseball TOW this spring.
