ADRIAN, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced its Athletes of the Week in track and field for meets through March 31st, and two athletes from Adrian College have been awarded the honors. Sophomores Jacob Mehr and Senneca Scott have been named Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Women's Track Athlete of the Week respectively for their efforts.
Mehr, a sophomore from South Lyon, Mich. (South Lyon) was named Field Athlete of the Week after an impressive performance at the Defiance Yellow Jacket Open on March 31st. Mehr won both the discus and shot put at the meet, as he threw the shot 49-11.75, and launched the discus 154-05.
Scott, a sophomore from Livonia (Franklin HS), won the 100-meter hurdles also at the Defiance Yellow Jacket Open with a personal best time of 14.96 seconds. She tops in the MIAA so far this season and currently is ninth-best in NCAA Division III in the 100-meter hurdles.
Both the Bulldog Men's and Women's teams will compete at home this weekend, during the Adrian All-American Invite, which is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on April 7th.
