YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Adrian College Track & Field team completed at the non-scoring Eastern Michigan Twilight Invitational. The Bulldogs competed against several NCAA Division I and Division II teams.
The men's squad had several top performances including seven top-10 performances in the field events.
Derek Stoll turned in two top-10 performances at the meet finishing fifth in the shot put with a distance of 15.39m and eighth in the discus with a throw of 42.08m. Jacob Mehr had similar finishes in both events as he placed eighth in the shot put with a distance of 14.17m and fifth in the discus with a distance of 46.20m.
Aaron Wielfaert finished fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.95m. Chris Kimball placed eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.35m while Marshawn Selby finished ninth in the long jump with a distance of 6.36m.
The team of Alex Cameron, Garrett Waidelich, Chad Allemon and Zach Smith turned in the Bulldogs best performance of the day as they finished third in the 4x100m relay with a time of 42.43. The foursome beat out the likes of Division I Oakland University and Division II Saginaw Valley.
Eric Kilpatrick placed fifth in the 3000m with a time of 9:37.28. Smith finished 12th in the 100m with a time of 11.27 while Wielfaert ran the 200m in a time of 22.84 to place 18th.
On the women's side, Megan Meier turned in two of the Bulldogs top performances as she placed 12th in the shot put with a throw of 12.01m and 14th in the hammer throw with a distance of 42.41m. Alison Hedgcock placed 19th in the javelin with a throw of 21.93m.
Kelsea Sellers turned in Adrian's best showing the in running events with a 12th place finish in the 100m with a time of 12.75. Alicia Fowler finished 14th in the 400m with a time of 1:00.06 and 25th in the 1,500m with a time of 4:50.67. Senneca Scott placed 21st in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07.55 and finished with a time of 16.12 to place 23rd in the 100m hurdles.
The team will participate in the Hillsdale College Relays running from April 28-30.
