EAST LANSING, Mich.--The Adrian College women's ACHA Division I hockey squad bounced back in a big way on Saturday afternoon, downing the Michigan State Spartans 6-3 at Suburban Ice Arena in East Lansing.
Nicole Paradis scored a pair of goals to lead Adrian to victory, as the #2 ranked Bulldogs got back to their winning ways after falling to Colorado State on Friday 4-3.
Adrian got off to a fast start against the Spartans, scoring the game's first four goals. Jessie Rushing got things started for the Bulldogs with an unassisted goal before Paradis scored the first of her goals to make it 2-0 at the first intermission.
The Spartans did not go quietly in the third period; however, scoring twice in the period's first 65 seconds, with goals by Lyndsay Oden and Kara Scaturro and then getting within one on a second goal by Oden with 9:45 remaining in the contest.
The Spartans would get no closer, however, as LaFlamme and Kallie Hardy put the game away for Adrian with goals just 18 seconds apart in the game's final five minutes.
The win pushes the Bulldogs season mark to 18-4 with just five regular-season games remaining. The Bulldogs and Spartans will meet again on Thursday, when the series moves to Arrington Ice Arena with face-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
