GLENVILLE, W.V. – The Adrian College acrobatics and tumbling team fell to 4-2 on the year with a 263.220-236.105 loss to Glenville State College on Sunday, March 24. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs can leave with a positive, as their score of 236.105 is the most points scored in the Ellen Barker era as head coach, surpassing the previous mark of 231.455 in their home tri-meet.
Glenville State led 35.30-31.60 after the compulsory event, with Adrian scoring above a 9.40 in the pyramid and toss heats. The Lady Pioneer extended their lead in the acro and pyramid events, taking a 93.60-83.90 lead into halftime. AC improved in each event, missing only 3.90 points from start values in the acro event and 2.35 points missed in the pyramid event, including a score of 9.50 in the open pyramid heat.
The toss event continued to be Adrian's best event relative to start value, with the Bulldogs only missing out on 1.45 points, picking up scores of 8.75 in all three heats, and only finishing .75 points behind GSC in the event. Glenville State pulled away in the tumbling event, outscoring the Black and Gold 52.400-41.425 before the Lady Pioneers took the team event 90.22-84.53 to close the meet out.
The Bulldogs have their final meet of the season on Sunday, April 7 when Concordia-Wisconsin comes to Adrian for the Black and Gold's third home meet of the year, with a start time scheduled for 12 p.m. AC got the better of CUW on the road to open the season, scoring big in the team event to come back and win after trailing the whole meet, 224.97-219.57.
