Top-10 of 2015-16: Twenty-two All-Americans Representing Nine Sports Make No. 5 on the List

ADRIAN, Mich.--For the next week, we'll count down the Drive for Five in the top-10 of Adrian College Athletics stories on from the 2015-16 academic year. Thanks to our visitors for submitting nominations on our Facebook, Twitter pages and via email. So without further ado, drumroll please....

The No. 5 entry on our countdown: 22 student-athletes receiving All-America accolades 30 times across nine sports.

Nationally-ranked Bass Fishing, Collegiate Club National champion Women's Bowling and U.S. Intercollegiate Team Championship Figure Skating power each placed four All-Americans.

NCAA Women's Hockey, which swept Northern Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season and tournament championships in the same season for the first time in team history, had three student-athletes receive seven All-America citations. In addition, Brooke Lupi was tabbed the National Rookie of the Year for NCAA Division III.

Here are the honorees recognized in 2015-16...

Bass Fishing (4): Sophomores Nick Marsh, Jeffrey Morton, Jacob Bayer and Jarrett Martin (Adrian also only school in the country with more than two).

ACHA Men’s Hockey, Division 1 (2): Sophomore Brad Kobryn, First Team Forward and Sophomore Austyn Roudebush, Third Team Goaltender.

Women’s Bowling (4): Junior Brittney Antonelli, senior Taylor Ouellette, and sophomores Jennifer Kelly, Noelle Scheuer.

NCAA Men’s Hockey (2/5): Freshman defenseman Cory Dunn by CCM/AHCA Second Team, HERO Sports and Third Team; Senior defenseman Chris Leone by CCM/AHCA First Team and Second Team. Plus, the National Freshman of the Year for NCAA Division III was center Connor Armour.

Men’s Wrestling (1): Freshman Angus Arthur, NCAA 4th place and NCWA at 197 pounds.

NCAA Women’s Hockey (3/7): Junior defenseman Sydney Smith by First Team, First Team, AHCA/CCM First Team; junior forward Kristin Lewicki by AHCA/CCM First Team, Second Team, Second Team; junior goalie Jade Walsh by Second Team. 

Baseball (1/2): Junior shortstop Ryan Dorow by ABCA/Rawlings All-America Third Team and All-America Honorable Mention.

Figure Skating (4): Nikki Czuhajewski, Megan Sauer, Madeline Sena and Tricia DeFelice.

Women’s Wrestling (1): Sam Cushard, WCWA Nationals 7th place at 155 pounds.
