ADRIAN, Mich.--Adrian College senior student-athlete Sean Cain, of Northville High School, appears in the latest edition of NCAA Champion magazine, published for Winter 2018. Cain, a sports management major and four-year starter on the men's soccer team, wrote an op-ed commentary piece on Page 5 titled "Better, But Not Bigger" for the national organization's publication that reaches the NCAA's membership that numbers over 1,200 schools, conferences and affiliate organizations.
Cain served as a team captain, earned All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association as a junior and completed his career as one of the Bulldogs' all-time leaders in games started (T-3rd, 64) and minutes played (2nd, 5747). Off the field, he has served as the Adrian SAAC president and played an integral part in the planning and execution of the first Adrian College Exhibits Excellence in Sport (ACEES) Awards in 2016, an ESPYs- and Academy Awards-style show to showcase outstanding team and student-athletes' performances during an academic year at the College.
Cain begins, "The Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee represents the interests of more than 180,000 student-athletes. We continuously search for ways to enhance our peers’ college experience, but we believe a new piece of legislation that would double the national SAAC’s size would hinder our ability to meet that goal...."
