Bulldogs Have Six Wrestlers Place in First Action this Season

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — The Adrian Bulldogs women's wrestling team had six wrestlers place in the team's first action of the season at the Emmanuel College Open on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The Bulldogs were led by fourth place finishes from Haylee McCoy and Zoe Nowicki.

"We had a good test today," said Head Coach Cliff Cushard. "Our young wrestlers got their first taste of action at this level. You can see from the placings that several of them did quite well. The others learned and will be better for it."

Hannah Workman, Maggie Elliot and Lacey Jung-Michonski all finished in fifth place for Adrian.

MacKenzie Matta earned sixth place for the Black and Gold.

"This group is going to get back to practice with a new focus now," Cushard said. "I'm excited for the duals next week and the other competitions after."

The Bulldogs travel to Tiffin University next weekend for three duals against Tiffin, Ferrum and Gannon on Saturday, Oct 20.
