KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The good news for Adrian was that senior setter Natalie Niblock returned to the court after missing the entire season with injury. The bad news was a 3-1 loss at Kalamazoo on Tuesday.
Adrian went four sets against Kalamazoo with set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 17-25 and 21-25. Niblock played in all four sets and finished the match with 16 assists and six digs.
Valerie Smith had one of her better performances of the season with a team-leading 13 kills and a .435 attack percentage. Smith also had an impact with one solo block and four block assists. Rebecca Tincknell reached the double-digit mark in kills with 11 but her attack percentage was down from her season average at .069 against the Hornets. Tincknell had five block assists and five digs.
Adrian (5-16, 2-10 MIAA) hit .056 for the match while Kalamazoo hit .134 with a total of 48 kills. Colleen Leonard and Johanna Kupe each had 10 kills to pace the Hornets.
