Women’s volleyball falls to Bluffton University

ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's volleyball team (4-4) almost came back from two-sets, but just fell short to Bluffton University (4-2), 3-1, after finishing their second of two back-to-back games within a four-hour span Saturday afternoon.

The Beavers took the first two sets (25-16, 25-19) before Adrian took set three (25-17) and came close to tying the match before losing the fourth set, 25-21.

Up front, the team was led by freshman Jordan Brisson (Waterford, Mich.), who had 27 total attacks and shared the team lead in kills (9) with freshman Makahla Jacobs (Toledo, Ohio).  

Jacobs also led the team in block assists (4) and junior Casey Donovan (Lapeer, Mich.) had a team-high 11 digs for the match.

Senior Kristy DeClercq (Livonia, Mich.) added 17 assists, while juniors Ellie Mindick (Northville, Mich.) and Emily Ribant (Flushing, Mich.) registered three service aces each.

The team travels to Marietta, Ohio on Wednesday Sept. 12th to compete in the Marietta Tournament with a 7 p.m. matchup.
