OLIVET, Mich. - The Lady Bulldog tennis team defeated Olivet College, 8-1, on Sunday to improve to a school-record nine wins on the season, passing the previous record set last year.
The Bulldogs swept all three doubles points winning each match 8-1. The momentum carried over for Adrian where they picked up straight set victories in the first five flights of singles. Olivet picked up its lone point at No. 6 singles where Haley Freilino retired after the first set due to injury.
Arielle Williams picked up an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles. It was her fifth singles win of the season and first in the conference.
"Raising the bar for wins in a season was one of our goals coming into the year," said head coach Adam Albertsen. "The girls have been playing very well against some tough competition and it was a great victory for the team. The hard work and improvement they have put into the program continues to move us forward."
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, April 15 when they host Saint Mary's (Ind.) at 4 p.m.
