ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's tennis team (4-1) upped their winning streak to four by shutting out visiting Capital University (5-2), 9-0, Saturday afternoon.
"After a late match last night the ladies came out with great fight today and played very well. Our doubles teams looked good with Arielle and Morgan battling back to claim a victory and Jordenne and Karen continuing to play consistent and pick up big points for our team. In singles play, Morgan Spencer and Justine Hanson gutted out really tough matches and helped seal victory for us. It was great to pick up a victory on Homecoming day," said head women's tennis coach Adam Albertsen.
In singles play, Morgan Spencer ( 6-3, 5-7, 10-4) and Justine Hanson (6-4, 5-7, 11-9) both pulled out exciting victories that were decided after splitting the first two sets and both needed super tie-breakers to decide the winners.
In doubles play, Arielle Williams and Morgan Spencer battled back to take a well-earned victory at No. 1 doubles, 8-6.
The Lady Bulldogs finish off the fall season with a home match on Saturday, October 6th against Goshen at 11 a.m.
