BLUFFTON, Ohio – The women's tennis team (2-1) put together a solid effort in defeating Bluffton University, 9-0, Tuesday. The team won all their singles matches in straight sets for a combined win total of 62-8, and were just as dominate in doubles with a combined 24-2 total.
In singles play, Arielle Williams defeated Caitlin Nearhood 6-1, 6-0; Morgan Spencer defeated Melissa Hostetler 6-1, 6-0; Jordenne Ferenczi defeated Ashley Jones 6-1, 6-1; Justine Hanson defeated Ashley Fox 6-1, 6-1; Jordyn Grant defeated Tyler Jennings 6-2, 6-0; and Morgan Khem defeated Marissa Radigan 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles play, Williams/Spencer defeated Hostetler/Nearhood 8-0, Ferenczi/Kienitz defeated Jones/Jennings 8-1, and Hanson/Khem defeated Fox/Radigan 8-1.
Head coach Adam Albertsen said "The girls responded well to windy and drizzly playing conditions. It becomes a different game when the weather is like it was today; everyone adjusted well and played smart tennis. Our doubles teams are continuing to gel together and feel more comfortable on the courts. We are looking to build off this as we go into the MIAA singles and doubles tournament this weekend."
