MIAA Releases the Softball Preseason Coaches Poll

FREELAND, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association released the 2017 Preseason Coaches Poll for softball today. The Adrian College Bulldogs finished in the seventh spot (out of nine teams) with a total of 25 points.

The poll has the defending regular season and tournament champion, Alma Scots, in the top spot as they received eight of the nine possible first-place votes for a total of 64 points.

In the second spot, is Trine with 55 points. Hope, receiving one first-place vote, finished in third with 50 points and Calvin (39 points) rounded out the top four.

St. Mary's (Ind.) (37), Kalamazoo (27), and Adrian (25) were the next three in the poll order. Olivet (18) and Albion (9) finished out the selections.

The Bulldogs will start their season on February 25 when the team travels to Florida for spring break to compete in Clermont, Florida at the National Training Center. Adrian will play six games during the trip.
