Eight Teams Selected to Compete in NCAA DIII Softball Regional Hosted by Adrian College

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division III Softball Committee announced the eight teams that will be participating in the Adrian Regional tournament taking place May 12-16 at the AC Softball Field.

The top seed went to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champions DePauw University. The Tigers enter the tournament with a record of 26-7-1. Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular season champion Alma College will play as the #2 seed with a record of 33-6.  The third seed will be Baldwin-Wallace College out of the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets won the OAC conference tournament but had to receive an at-large bid from the committee with a record of 27-9.

Also out of the MIAA will be the fourth seed and conference tournament champions Trine University with a record of 27-11. The fifth seed will be the OAC conference champions Ohio Northern University who enter the regional with a record of 26-12. The Presidents' Athletic Conference champion Bethany College will play as the sixth seed with an overall record of 29-14. North Coast Athletic Conference champions Hiram College with be the #7 seed with a record of 25-12. Rounding out the field as the #8 seed is the surprise team of D'Youville College. The Spartans won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference with a record of 21-8 out of the Northeast region.

The tournament is scheduled to start at 10:00 am on May 12 with the championship set for May 15 at 2:00 pm with an if necessary game at 10:00 am on May 16.
