Four Women's Soccer Players Earn MIAA Honors

FREELAND, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the 2017 women's soccer All-MIAA Awards on Thursday, November 2. Sophomores Caroline Fleming and Rachel Rodeheffer each received first-team nods for the Bulldogs. Fellow Bulldog sophomores Melissa Brick and Ayverie Giller were both named to the second team.

Fleming leads Adrian in points with 29 (10g,9a) and currently ranks second in the conference in assists, fourth in points, and she is tied for fourth in goals. She has been named MIAA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.

Rodeheffer has helped anchor an Adrian defense that has allowed the second-lowest goals against average of 0.80. The Bulldogs have also delivered 10 shutouts this season--second-most in the league. She has scored four points as a defender with a goal and two assists. She was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week once this season.

Brick is another leader of the Adrian defense, along with Rodeheffer, that helped shutout 10 opponents this season and attain the second-lowest goals-against average in the conference.

Giller has the second-highest save percentage in the MIAA with .841. She is also ranked second with a 0.80 goals-against average and third with 14 goals against on the year. Her 13 wins and seven shutouts this season are also second-best in the MIAA.

Adrian travels to Olivet Thursday, November 2 to take on the Comets in the semifinals of the MIAA tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., ET.
