Pomeroy Powers Bulldogs to Big Win over Capital

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Adrian College women's soccer team made it two wins in a row at the Fort Rapids Invitational hosted by Capital University with a 1-0 win on Sunday over the host school. Senior forward Courtney Pomeroy scored her second goal of the season at 29:13 with an assist from sophomore Ellery Karsten on a pass across the box with the shot hitting the left corner of the net.

Capital fell to 2-3 overall while the Bulldogs improved to 3-0 this season, all on the road. The match was tightly contested as Adrian was outshot 8-7 including a 6-5 deficit in shots on goal. Five different Bulldogs had a shot on net and senior goalkeeper Chayna Wallace stopped all six shots taken at her. She has earned the win in every match this season.

"We played great defensively today," said head coach Ali Alamdari. "Courtney scored in both matches this weekend and our scoring depth is something that makes us a good team."

The Bulldogs will host Alma College in their MIAA and home opener on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 7:00 PM. It is a rematch of the MIAA Tournament Final from last season.
