Bulldogs Let Thunder Pull Away to 12-8 Decision

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Bulldogs took on the Trine University Thunder Saturday afternoon in a MIAA matchup. Adrian took the 1-0 lead early, but let the Thunder pull away with four straight goals to take over the game in the first half. Trine would hold off the Bulldogs as Adrian fell 12-8 and now stand at 0-9, 0-5 on the season.

Adrian would jump out to a 1-0 lead as Alex Branum would feed Michelle Sandlin for her 15th of the season. Trine would follow with four straight goals and take over the lead for the remainder of the game. The Bulldogs would fight to a 8-5 first half score as Branum scored twice, Sandlin added her second of the game, and Annika Nuler tallied a free position shot to add to the Adrian scoring.

Trine would open up the game to start the second half as they scored the first four goals of the period to take a 12-5 lead. Adrian would continue to fight as Sandlin scored her third of the game and Mariesa Johnson recorded two goals to pull within four of the Thunder.

Alison Dungey continued her impressive play in goal for the Bulldogs as she recorded nine saves and added eight ground balls to take the decision.

The Bulldogs will see action again on April 21 when they travel to take on Albion College at 7 p.m.
