OLIVET, Mich. – The women's lacrosse team (12-2, 4-0) extended their win streak to six games while remaining undefeated on the road (8-0) on Tuesday afternoon by defeating Olivet College (2-8, 0-4) in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association matchup.
Adrian took a 9-0 first half lead before adding four more goals in the second half for the 13-1 final. Adrian would have the edge in shots (24-8).
Heather Newblom got the Bulldogs on the board first about three minutes into the contest with her 27th of the season. About a minute later, Maddie Dugan got her 26th of the year to put Adrian up, 2-0. Less than three minutes after that, Hannah Early would make it a 3-0 score.
About 10 minutes into the contest, Dugan would get her second of the game. Almost half way through the first half the Bulldogs would score a pair of goals within a minute by Early and Olivia Duncan to increase their lead by six.
Duncan would add her 55th goal of the season with about seven minutes left in the first half. Birlson and Kate Ravenhill would round out the first half scoring in the final six minutes of the half.
It would take the Bulldogs about a minute into the second half to score again. Duncan would stake Adrian to an 10-0 lead and Early would add another seven minutes in for an 11-0 lead. The Bulldogs would score again when Nicole McDowell would get her second goal of the season.
Olivet would get on the board about midway through the second half to make it a 12-1 game.
With under 10 minutes to play, Regen Stahl would notch her first of the season to cap off the scoring.
Maddie McDonald would record the win in the cage with five saves.
Duncan would lead the team in groundballs with four, while Dugan and Newblom would each add three apiece.
The Bulldogs take to the road for their next matchup against Trine University on Friday, April 19th at 4 p.m.
