Dominant Opening Half Leads to 17-5 Win at Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Hannah Early got the Adrian College women's lacrosse team off to an early start on Sunday afternoon scoring three goals in the first 6:40 as the Bulldogs went on to build a 10-2 halftime lead at Greensboro College. The Bulldogs scored nine straight goals spanning the first and second half to build a 12-2 lead and built themselves a comfortable cushion before winning 17-5 to improve to 2-0.
Senior Cassie Hoyez led the team with five goals and two assists and also tied for the team lead with six draw controls. Early finished with five goals and also six draw controls. Senior Heather Newblom added three goals and two assists while causing two turnovers.
Senior Stacey Birlson led the team with four assists. Freshman Maddie McDonald made four saves in getting her second win of the season. Senior Olivia Duncan chipped in three goals on four shots on goal and caused two turnovers.
