Michelin Named Adrian's First Ever Women's Reebok All-American

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Adrian College women's hockey goaltender Emily Michelin (Highland, Mich.) was named a 2011 DIVISION III REEBOK WOMEN'S HOCKEY ALLAMERICAN over the weekend at the NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championships as announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

Michelin, a freshman, becomes the first Adrian women's hockey player to be named an All-American. She is the first player in school history, men's and women's, to be named First Team All-American.

Michelin wrapped up her first season with the Bulldogs setting a single season team record with eight shutouts which ranked second in the nation. Michelin was ninth in the nation with a .708 (16-6-3) winning percentage. Michelin finishing the season with a 1.99 goals against average and .924 save percentage in leading the Bulldogs to their first ever NCHA tournament title and first NCAA Tournament appearance. Adrian also set a school record for wins in a season finishing their season 19-8-3.

Michelin joins five other players, three forwards and two defenseman, as the only goalie on the West Region First Team. The East Region consisted of a first and second team. Michelin is one of only two freshmen named an All-American, joining fellow NCHA player Kait Mason of Wisconsin-River falls.

The REEBOK HOCKEY ALL-AMERICAN ICE HOCKEY TEAMS are sponsored by REEBOK HOCKEY, an international leader in hockey equipment, and chosen by members of the AMERICAN HOCKEY COACHES ASSOCIATION. Due to the number of teams regionally, the coaches have established two East teams and one West team.
