Women's Golf Opens MIAA Circuit in Marshall at the Medalist Golf Club

MARSHALL, Mich.--The Adrian College women's golf team opened the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association season on Thursday at the MIAA Jamboree #1 here at the Medalist Golf Club. The Bulldogs shot a combined 365 for eighth place (tying with Kalamazoo College).

Junior Brooke Symons, who is the reigning MIAA Player of the Week, paced Adrian with an 80 which was good for fifth-place tie. Sophomore Hailey Scott had an 84 and T-13th place finish to give the team a pair of top-20 showings. Next up were senior Libby Dusenbery (100, 46th), freshman Alexis Weston (101, 47th) and sophomore Hannah McKee (105, 51st).

In addition, freshman Lauren Yankee recorded a 91 and T-28th as an individual for the Bulldogs.

St. Mary's College (Ind.) outdistanced Hope College 326 to 332 atop the team standings, but the latter's Abby Meder was the medalist with a 74.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Sep. 22 (1 p.m.), for the MIAA Jamboree #2 hosted by Saint Mary's (Ind.) at the Knollwood Golf Club.
