FREELAND, Mich.--The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association on Monday announced Adrian College junior Brooke Symons (Sterling Heights Stevenson High School) as the MIAA Women's Golfer of the Week, for the period ending Sunday. This signals the third such weekly award for Symons, who also was honored on April 2, 2018, and Sep. 25, 2017.

At the Olivet College Kyle Campbell Invitational last weekend, Symons led the Bulldogs with an 11th place finish (82+81=163) out of 78 student-athletes. She helped lead the charge on Saturday when Adrian shaved 23 strokes (377+354=731) over the final 18 holes compared to Friday and improved from 11th to 10th place. Adrian's 354 on the second day was the lowest round as a team since Oct. 7, 2017, spanning six events over 12 rounds.

An all-conference standout as a sophomore, Symons paces the AC squad by five strokes with an 85.75 average so far this season.

The Bulldogs return to the links on Thursday when they travel to The Medalist Golf Course in Marshall for the MIAA Jamboree #1. The event is hosted by Albion College at 1 p.m.
