Women's Golf Jumps to 6th at Second MIAA Jamboree

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Adrian College women's golf team improved by two places from their previous jamboree result as they shot a combine 373 to finish in a tie for sixth place with Alma.

The second MIAA Jamboree was played at the par-72, 5,972 yard Thornapple Pointe Golf Club. Saint Mary's won the team competition with a 321. Mary Kate Boyce of Saint Mary's won medalist honors with a 6-over-par 78.

Adrian was led by a trio of freshman, Marissa Souter, Chelsey Wyman and Ariel Gruber. Souter and Wyman led the way shooting 92 en-route to a tie for 21st. Gruber tied for 32nd as she improved by five strokes to finish her round with a 94. Junior Leanna Stockard rounded out the team scoring for the Bulldogs firing a 95 to finish in a tie for 35th.

Kelly Behen, a senior, finished in a tie for 38th after carding a 96. Freshman Marina Morris completed her round with a 107 to finish in a tie for 48th. Junior Kelly Drlicka rounded out the Bulldogs participants finishing in 55th after shooting a 115.

The women's golf team will travel to Clayton, Ind. to compete in the DePauw Small College Classic on September 25-26 at the Deer Creek Golf Club.
