Bowlers Sixth at Valpo Crusader Classic

VALPARAISO, Ind. - The women's bowling team got the chance to bowl again NCAA eligible teams at the Valparaiso Crusader Classic on Nov. 13. The team finished sixth in the Classic with a total pinfall of 7,500. Minnesota-Mankato captured the title with a total of 8,275.
The Bulldogs recorded a 1-3 record in Baker games. The win came against Minnesota-Mankato by a combined four-game score of 714-666. The second game against Mankato saw the Bulldogs post a 218-150 win. The Baker format is where five bowlers alternate frames with each bowler rolling two frames total.
The team posted a 2-2 record in the five-person team match format where you combine the scores of five bowlers each rolling their own game. The Bulldogs had a 914-861 win against UW-Whitewater. Shannon McKowen rolled a season-best 234 in the third game and Nicole Corstange followed with a 211.
The team also defeated Elmhurst, 826-822. Kristen Marcis had the high-game for AC with a 187. The best overall average for the Classic went to McKowen with a 189. Corstange averaged 180 for the Classic.
