TOLEDO, Ohio--Junior Jordyn Stone earned her second all-tournament nod of the season to help the Adrian College women's bowling team take eighth place at the 14-school Toledo Classic held Saturday at the New Glass Bowl Lanes. The Bulldogs put down 5,530 pins in their last tournament of the fall semester.
Stone threw a 753 series to average 188.25, which gave her a fourth-place finish out of 83 bowlers. She captures her second all-tournament citation in 2018-19. Freshman Abby Deslippe showed her skills as she bowled all four games, recording a 698 to average 174.5 for a career-best 11th place performance. Junior, Kayla Clark bowled a 695, averaging 173.75 and placing 13th. Other Bulldogs competing were junior Arianna Woodrow who bowled three of the four games; freshman Adrienne Spranger bowled two of the four games, and three freshmen--Zoey Deslippe, Kailee Treloar and Kimberly Schultz--had one of the four games of individuals.
Adrian had a bakers set of 2251.
Wright State distanced itself from Bowling Green State for the team title, 6578 to 6470. Madison Stiffler of the champion Raiders took home the individual title (788, 197.0).
Adrian will take final exams next week and then break for the holidays before resuming its schedule on Saturday through Monday, Jan. 12-14, at the Buckeye Baker Classic at HP Lanes in Columbus, Ohio.
