ADRIAN, Mich. - The women's basketball team posted their third straight win on Sunday, Feb. 5 as they stepped out of conference for a 69-43 win over Finlandia University. The win moves Adrian to 9-11 overall while Finlandia slipped to 4-19 overall.
The Bulldogs never trailed in the contest and cruised to a 44-24 halftime lead. Adrian quickly led 14-3 in the first 7:12 of the game. The Bulldogs saw their lead shrink to 19-14 with 8:59 left in the first half after a Paige Yoho three-pointer. Adrian then went on a 18-4 run over the next five minutes to put the game out of reach. The first half saw Adrian shoot 7-of-9 from behind the arc and 16-of-26 from the floor. Finlandia went 10-of-24 from the floor and 4-of-11 from behind the arc in the first 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs led by no less than 20 points in the second half to cruise to their sixth home win of the season. Adrian connected on a season-high 11 three's and tied a season-high with 25 field goals. The Bulldogs shot 43.1 percent for the game while Finlandia shot 32.1 percent.
Three players were in double figures for the Bulldogs led by Katie Ross with 20 points. She made 7-of-10 from the floor including five triples in 30 minutes. Lauren Rhoads scored a career-high 17 points and went 5-of-8 from behind the arc. She also had six rebounds in 26 minutes. Senneca Scott added 10 points scoring in double figures for the seventh time this season. She added six boards and two assists in 19 minutes.
