Men's Tennis Finishes Season at MIAA Tournament

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The men's tennis team ended its season on Friday at the MIAA Tournament hosted by Kalamazoo College with a pair of losses to Hope (7-0) and Alma (5-3). The team finished seventh in the MIAA.
Hope blanked the Bulldogs for the second time in the past six days as they posted a 7-0 decision. Alex Ziajor and Brian Opyrchal had a very competitive third doubles match as they fell 8-6 to Kevin Hagan and Davis Vanderveen.
The singles matches were completed at one, two, three and five spots. Chris Ludwig fell 6-1, 6-2 at one singles to John Gardner. Cameron Hamilton fell 6-0, 6-1 at three singles to Gabe Casher.
Adrian (9-13) took one of three doubles matches in their 5-3 loss to Alma. Ziajor and Opyrcal won 8-5 at three doubles against Shanden Delamater and Eric Montoye. Opyrchal also continued his fine play at four singles with a 6-2, 2-1 win as Wes Augustine had to retire in the second set. Ziajor also picked up a point with a 6-1, 6-0 win at five singles over Delamater.
