ADRIAN, Mich. - A doubles sweep and a 5-1 advantage in singles play pushed the Adrian Bulldogs Men's Tennis team past the Bluffton Beavers, 8-1 in Adrian's first home outdoor match of the season. The Bulldogs improve to 2-2 on the year, already besting their win total from a season ago.
The number one doubles team of Ryan Delacey and Cameron Hamilton were victorious 8-3, as the Bulldogs got the sweep in doubles play. Alex Ziajor and Alex Holdren also won their match 8-3, with the duo of Ron Hilliard and Jared Edwards coming out on top 8-2.
First-year Head Coach Adam Albertsen was pleased to see the team pick up its second straight victory on the year.
"The guys came out with great effort and adjusted well to playing outside for the first time of the year," Albertsen said. "Picking up back to back wins is a great confidence boost and we hope to continue this level of play throughout the rest of the season."
In singles play, the freshman Delacey once again picked up a win, 6-3, 6-3, to give the number one player yet another victory. The Bulldogs also got wins from Hamilton, Ziajor, Holdren, and Edwards in singles play, giving Adrian the 5-1 advantage.
