Men's Soccer Suffers First Conference Loss to No. 3 Calvin

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's soccer team lost its first conference match of the season on Saturday, Oct. 13 when the Bulldogs fell to No. 3 Calvin on the road.

THE BASICS

Final Score: Calvin 4, Adrian 0

Records: Calvin 12-1 (4-0 MIAA), Adrian 6-6 (3-1 MIAA),

HOW IT HAPPENED

Calvin jumped out to a quick lead, scoring the first goal of the match in the sixth minute. The Knights would double their lead just over two minutes later, scoring again in the eighth minute.

The match would go without another goal until the 82nd minute when Calvin was able to net its third of the game. Just like the first goal, the Knights were able to pot another one right away, getting the last goal of the match in the 83rd minute.

TOP DOGS

• Junior Garrett Miller took Adrian's lone shot on goal.

• Junior goalkeeper Spencer Brown had a busy day in net, making 11 saves in the match.

THE OPPOSITION

• Trent Vegter, Hunter Olson, Bobby McCaw and Dillon Weldy all scored for the Knights.

• Vetger, McCaw, Ian Adams, and Jacob Lyon all added assists, with Lyon picking up two.

UP NEXT

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 17 when they travel to Trine for a 4 p.m. match against the Thunder.
