FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College senior Cody Schmitt (Champlin Park, Minn.) has been named to the All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Second Team as a long-pole specialist, it was announced on Tuesday by the MIAA office.

Schmitt becomes the first four-time all-conference selection in Adrian history (includes the Midwest Lacrosse Conference affiliation), including MIAA First Team as a junior and sophomore and second team during his freshman campaign. This season, the business major posted another career-year in which he totaled 17 goals, five assists, 22 total points, seven man-up tallies, 81 ground balls, 31 caused turnovers. He was third in the conference in man-up goals, fifth in both caused turnovers and ground balls, and 11th with 56 face-off wins.

A four-year starter who has anchored the AC defense since 2014, Schmitt finishes his career as the Bulldogs' all-time leader with 114 caused turnovers and lists second behind Mitch Barnard (290, 2010-12) with 255 ground balls.

David Monroe (2010-12) and Brandon MacDonald (2011-13) are the only Bulldogs ever to be chosen first-team All-MLC/MIAA three times.
