Bulldogs drop 13-7 decision at Otterbein

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The men's lacrosse team (5-3) dropped a game Saturday afternoon to Otterbein University (5-3), 13-7, at Memorial Stadium in a non-conference game.

The Bulldogs fought back and eventually cut the Cardinal lead to 3-2, but a pair of goals in the closing 90 seconds of the first half gave Otterbein a 5-2 edge at intermission.

John Hudzinski's first of two goals cut the deficit to 6-3 about three minutes into the third quarter, but Otterbein took a 7-3 lead into the fourth.

The Cardinals scored six of the first seven goals in the final quarter to seize a 13-4 lead that Adrian wasn't able to overcome although Adrian rallied with the game's final three goals.

The Bulldogs held an edge in shots, 38-34, and groundballs, 33-30, but just couldn't find a rhythm in this particular contest.

Drake Dailey-Chwalibog had three goals to lead the way for Adrian, while Hudzinski added two and Jesse Gilbert and Cody Kilcoyne had single markers.

Tom Thielman had a pair of assists and Marcus Rossetter, Jeff Ulfig, Colton Brunk each added one assist, while goalkeeper Kevin Lerg made 11 saves.

Matt Hamilton led the Bulldogs in groundballs with four.

The Bulldogs will start conference play next Saturday, April 6 at Calvin at 1 p.m.
