Bulldogs never look back in win over Oberlin

ADRIAN, Mich. – The men's lacrosse team (3-2) took a 5-0 lead over visiting Oberlin College (2-2) and cruised to a 10-7 victory while never relinquishing the lead during the contest. Although the game was originally scheduled as a road game, it was moved to Adrian after poor field conditions were anticipated by the Yeomen.

Cody Kilcoyne led the Bulldog attack factoring in on half the goals with a pair of goals and three assists on the night.

John Hudzinski and Mitch Burgin also added a pair of goals with single tallies scored by Nick Levanti, Jesse Gilbert, Colton Brunk and Tom Thielman.

Thielman finished second in scoring to Kilcoyne with three points, led the team in shots on goal with six, and his goal was the game winner.

Oberlin mounted a late first half comeback with three goals in the last five minutes of the second quarter to cut Adrian's lead to 5-3 at the half.

Adrian doubled up Oberlin in the third quarter, outscoring them 4-2, and taking a 9-5 lead into the final quarter.

Current Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, Kevin Lerg, made five saves in net for the Bulldogs.

Adrian had a 31-17 edge in groundballs. Lido Aldini led the team in groundballs with four, while Brandon MacDonald, Marcus Rossetter, Peter Treppa, and Burgin; each added three.

The Bulldogs were better than 50 percent in faceoffs with Brian Sullivan winning six and Zach Kozlowski, four.

The team heads next to Orchard Park, N.Y. to face Clarkson on Wednesday, March 20th for a 6 p.m. matchup.
